Spanish expansion for Renishaw

The Iberian subsidiary of world leading engineering technology company, Renishaw, recently opened its new premises in Gavà, Barcelona, Spain.

The Iberian subsidiary of world leading engineering technology company, Renishaw, recently opened its new premises in Gavà, Barcelona, Spain. The new facility at Gavà Park, C. Imaginació, 3 is located next to the C32 highway and is just 8 km from Barcelona Airport. The site provides the company with over 700 square metres of space, which includes metrology and demonstration rooms, allowing Renishaw Ibérica, S.A.U. to offer enhanced commercial and technical support to customers throughout Spain and Portugal, whether machine builders, machine importers or end-users.

Speaking about the new facility, Víctor Escobar, Managing Director of Renishaw Ibérica, S.A.U., said, “The opening of our new premises marks a new step in Renishaw's ongoing commitment to the Spanish and Portuguese markets. At a challenging time for many companies in the Iberian Peninsula, it gives us the opportunity to offer our customers a better service and support as well as show them how Renishaw products can help them improve their quality and their productivity.”

The new demonstration facilities will offer technical support to OEM customers, importers, distributors and end-users for Renishaw's wide range of market leading metrology products, including CMM probe systems, touch probes and laser tool setters for CNC machine tools, linear encoders and rotary encoders for position feedback, calibration systems for machine performance analysis, dental CAD/CAM solutions, its new flexible gauging systems, additive manufacturing technologies, and Raman spectroscopy systems for spectral analysis.

Renishaw Ibérica, S.A.U. was formed in 1990 and now consists of 17 people with years of engineering industry experience providing support throughout Spain and Portugal. The operation has also recently been strengthened by a refreshed Spanish language website with significantly improved functionality and customer resources at www.renishaw.es. The Renishaw Group currently has operations in 32 countries, with total employee numbers now over 2,900. For the year-ended July 2012, worldwide sales totalled £332 million (€425 million).
