Renishaw exhibiting at BioWales 2016
16 February 2016
From the 1st to 2nd March Renishaw will be exhibiting at the BioWales 2016 Life Sciences conference and exhibition held at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff, UK. Collaboration is a key part of the prudent healthcare ethos in Wales and the Renishaw stand will highlight how collaboration and forward planning can potentially help surgical teams reduce time spent in surgery through the use of craniomaxillofacial patient specific implants (PSIs). Over the course of the event the company will show live demonstrations of PSI design, illustrating how effective collaboration could benefit all stakeholders.
Renishaw will also be demonstrating its range of neurosurgical products, including the company's robot for stereotactic neurosurgery. Throughout the event, a team of Renishaw experts will be performing ‘live' implantations of an investigational drug delivery system, using the neuromate® stereotactic robot. Demonstrations will take place each day at 11:00, 13:30 and 17:30.
Attendees of BioWales will also be able to see the company's RenDx Multiplex Assay system, a recently CE marked platform that provides automated, multiplex, high sensitivity in vitro diagnosis of infectious disease. The platform's first assay, Fungiplex, detects the most common causative agents of invasive fungal disease, identifying 12 candida and aspergillus species directly from whole blood and serum samples. Also demonstrated at the Renishaw stand is its inVia Raman microscope which supports research in pathology, cancer and disease diagnosis, regeneration medicine, theranostics and microbiology.
