The OMM optical receiver is used in conjunction with the MI 12 interface.
The OMM unit comprises an optical receiver that communicates with a spindle or turret mounted probe. Probe trigger and control signals are processed by the separate MI 12 interface, located in the machine tool control cabinet.
The MI 12 replaces the earlier MI4 and MI7 interface units.
The OMM-C / MI 120 is an alternative to the OMM / MI 12, providing the same capability in a package that can be integrated into the machine's spindle housing.
